Adobe's Real-Time Photoshop Bus Stop

For the recent Adobe 'Creative Days' event, Adobe set up a screen and a number of hidden cameras in a random bus shelter in Stockholm. They then enlisted the help of Photoshop Guru Erik Johansson to prank the innocent bus-riders, who would be stunned by their sudden appearance in bus-shelter advertising. The unsuspecting by-standers are photographed from a van where Johansson played with the images using various tools in Photoshop. While working on the images, the whole process is then shown in real-time on the dedicated digital AdShel that was installed inside bus stop for the bus shelter by-standers to see. Their reactions are priceless! The video was uploaded just over three weeks ago and since then, it has been raking in views and at present, has almost 16 million views.

Photographer and master retoucher, Johansson, gave a TED Talk a whilst back on making magical scenes "visually plausible", which is something he reiterates was crucial with this project. "I don't capture moments, I capture ideas" says Johansson.

And this is just the first prank. Adobe has announced that they will be doing more pranks like this in other cities, where people can watch it live. Watch out!
