Hello everyone!

I'm Alice! I'm a young lover of the advertising/marketing industry, in the process of learning about this wonderland and all of its madhatters. Having recently moved from Cape Town, South Africa’s crazy creative capital, I am slowly finding my way around Johannesburg which is proving to be very exciting. I am new to the industry, but in complete awe of its greatness, and for this reason I want to share my appreciation of it with you. On a day-to-day basis I am left speechless by the incredible talent that is exhibited in the advertising/marketing industry around the world and, in my opinion, what better way to record it than to blog it.

This is my first experience of a blog. It is also my first experience of writing about an industry that I am only recently coming to know. As I find my way, I hope to share some of my experiences/opinions/thoughts with you. And in between all of that, what I aim to do with the blog is showcase some of the ‘gems’ of the industry, from latest digital ad campaigns, to interactive marketing ideas, industry news, insights, and social media trends. I have drawn inspiration from international blogs such as “Brand Flakes for Breakfast”, “Digital Buzz” and “Adrants” as well as local blogs such as “Between 10 and 5” and “2 Oceans Vibe”.

I hope nothing I put on my site is of offense to you, but please do not hesitate to contact me on mypeanutbutterbacon@gmail.com if there is anything that is you are worried about. I also welcome any advice, comments, and of course some friendly support!

As I have mentioned, I am a complete beginner so please understand if I come across as a half-wit retard in the initial stages. It may take me days, it may take me weeks, if not months and you may just end up laughing at my blog, in which case, at least I did some good. So it’s a win win. Yes? Ok. Let’s go.
